Worst blog

Having the worst blog is better than having no blog. Blogs are used to connect with other people or bloggers. The worst case isn’t a bad blog—it’s no blog.

Even if you have no writing skills, if you stick with your blog, you’ll get good at it, and some people will read it.

Blogging makes you think before you say something online. A blog can be about almost anything—that’s cool. Blogs are cheap to run, easy to maintain, and give you something to do in your spare time so you won’t go insane from boredom.

Blogger’s life

A blogger’s life is really wonderful, but it doesn’t pay any money—that’s the only downside.

You wake up, make some tea or coffee, turn on your computer, and you’re free to write almost anything throughout the day.

I like the blogger’s life so much that I am a blogger myself; there’s no better work than being a blogger.

As I said, the only downside is that it doesn’t pay, but it’s real work you do for yourself—everything you do for yourself doesn’t pay, no matter the work.

If it made money, then it would be my dream career. Everybody would like to write blog posts in their underwear and make money.

Publishing platform

A blog is just a publishing platform; it doesn’t do much on its own—it attracts people if it has good content.

The internet has lots of good blogs, but people don’t have the attention to read them all. That’s why some blogs get no traffic.

So, if you want to publish your musings—start a blog! It’s still better than social media.

Blog posts never expire

Unlike social media, where your posts have a few hours to get attention and then are hidden, blog posts never expire.

That’s the beauty of blogging—everything you do on a blog compounds.

Many people do too much work on social media, when they could instead build their blogs.

On social media, you rent the space, while on a blog—you own it.

If you want to build a presence online—start a blog!

You don’t have to

I talk a lot about blogging—how it’s good for you, even if it makes you no money.

But in reality, you don’t have to write a blog. Blogging won’t make your life easier or better.

For most bloggers, life doesn’t change after blogging.

So, you really don’t have to blog if you don’t want to.

Slept

So, I slept a couple of times today after waking up from the night’s sleep.

Man, time flies fast when you’re sleeping.

I smoked a couple of cigarillos; now I’m drinking tea and listening to music.

I want to build something out of this blog. Yeah, it takes a long time—I just started 6 days ago.

Sit down and write

Blogging is hard work, especially if you want to make money from it.

Every blog could grow to some extent if the author wrote every single day for the rest of their life.

Many bloggers fail because they give up on their blogs too early.

Blogging is not a get-rich-quick occupation. It rarely pays the author.

There are other perks to blogging besides money.

So, sit down and write your damn blog if you want it to grow.

It’s distribution that matters

One guy—I can’t recall him—wrote 11K blog posts on his blog, and he said that most of them didn’t get many views.

So, you know—it’s not about piling up content, but about distributing it, which I also don’t do.

The reality is that anyone can pile up content, but for blogs without marketing, the traffic days are over.

Piling up content is very easy.

40 years is enough to grow a blog

You know, blogging—who doesn’t love it?

People start, and then they quit their blogs without giving them much content or time.

Blogs most likely won’t pay you. There are people who make it happen, but if you’re just writing what you want, the growth will be extremely slow.

Google doesn’t reward expression; it rewards usefulness and search intent. Besides, people online don’t read.

If you gave your blog 40+ years, it would be massive and would get some stable views.

Content you write today compounds into something big over time—a view here and there adds up.

And don’t reset your blog.

In the process

So, I’m in the process of uploading my backlog of videos to Archive.org.

I have tens of thousands of videos filmed over the years, so that’s nice.

I have a lot of content that barely got any views, so Archive.org will be a good place for it.
